CSC Flying Sites Map (OS Version)
The map shows all of the Cumbria Soaring Club flying sites using Ordnance Survey mapping. You can zoom into a 1:50,000 map; below that you have to make do with street plans. Click on the marker to get wind details and a link to the main site page for that site. When you access this page using the Firefox browser you may see the following warning message "Your browser does not support vector rendering. Currently supported renderers are: SVG/VML" Press OK and the map will load normally - i.e. you can ignore the warning message.
The markers on this map are sited deliberately at the parking locations. Follow the link (by clicking the marker) to the page for that site; there you will find a detailed site map together with instructions on how to find take off. The marker will click if you click anywhere in the circle - there seems to be a limitation on the OS software preventing normal cursor behaviour.
The Google Version (see menu) provides driving directions to and from the site.
May 2009 update - if you have updated to Internet Explorer 8, this page will probably throw an error. There is a problem with the OS software. Use a proper browser like Firefox instead (which will throw a different error which can be got round).
September 2009 update - the IE8 problem should be fixed. If it's not, please tell the webmaster
