Manfrotto currently (Mar '17) offer the 'Compact Xtreme' which is a monopod that also doubles as a monopole. At 1.31m fully extended it's not quite as long as the pole used by Geir but it does have the advantage of already having a GoPro mount at the narrow end of the pole. There are plenty of dedicated monopoles by less well known manufacturers. Some may extend beyond 1.5m. eg The Dolica WT-1003 and AmazonBasics both extend to 1.7m

Monopod vs Monopole?
A monopod has the attachment screw at the fat end, a monopole has the attachment screw at the thin end.
