Amongst the splendour of the Ennerdale valley, Dave Horne took this picture of Lance Greenhalgh on 30 November
Same day. Lance is just visible over the top of Pillar in the centre of the shot. Photo by Dave Horne

The "Last of the Summer Wine" club get all the best days! On December 12th Dave Horne floats off the top of Coniston Old Man in bright sunshine but nil wind. Feeble thermals and a 2600ft takeoff made it possible to enjoy a 10 minute fly down. Photo by Lance Greenhalgh.
December 23rd - Tony Bradley measures the depth of snow on top of High Cap (Cross Fell). Soon after posing for this picture Tony made an amazingly nimble reverse launch in zero wind and deep snow. Bravo! Photo by Lance Greenhalgh.
13 December at Ennerdale. Dave Robinson overtakes the photographer, Dave Horne. It was a very cold day with Artic air coming down from the North. Dave H reports 'Amazingly, at one point there was even a small thermal but only the two Daves were in a position to grab it and enjoy a small height gain. Annoyingly, Dave Robinson managed to stay in it and overtook me as I was falling out of the front side of it - that was the precise moment when I took the picture of him "overtaking" me on the inside.'

On 28 December a group of CSC pilots walked up Blencathra expecting a fly down to the football pitch at Threkeld. Instead they were rewarded with epic soaring conditions (for the time of year) - the major hazard being frozen hands! Steve Howe took these photos of Macolm Grout soaring the south face. Mike Harper took a great video which can be found here
